Maybe I'm still feeling a little jingoistic but... have I ever spoken about my true love for In The Army Now?
No, I has not?
SHOCKING.
I don't even love it ironically (whatever that means). I. LOVE. THIS. MOVIE. I bring it up in normal conversation more than I should. REALLY.
The Weeeeasel (found on Google Images).
If it's on the t.v., I will scratch your eyes out if you try and change the channel.
The HIIII-larity! (found on Gooogle Images)
I mean, look at that all-star cast of Pauly Shore (!!), and Lori Petty (I LOVE YOU TANK GIRL), the always impressive DAG, and... my sartorial inspiration for this post:
Camo vest?? (found on Google Images)
Andy Dick.
Is that weird? But really, it's only because of the glasses.

The outfit isn't really that great or mindblowing and I should have taken a picture of the shirt (it has bat-wing sleeves and everything...) but any chance it get to talk about In The Army Now... I TOLD YOU! Can't stop talking about it.
I'M GOING TO LIVE THE REST OF MY LIFE IN RED SHORTS.
Thanks, Coco Sumner, for keeping my "Where the hell can I find red shorts?!" dream alive.

Killing-time recommendation? A Nerf gun, like mine. It's the most fun you'll have shooting at people... without actually shooting people. Win-win.
+Red shorts: F21+
+Nerf six-shooter: Target

I don't think I've properly showcased my "new" glasses. These browline glasses, aka "clubmasters" are like the Ray-Bans, but unlike those, mine have a larger wire frame, they're made in France, and about bajillion times cheaper.
I should really commit myself to become a better blogger, if not for brain simulation, then for the routine alone. What else am I doing now... besides looking for another job?? Oh, that's right, looking for a job. But since I'm already on the computer, might as well as update this little thingie every once in awhile.
Data thinks maybe I should.
** I WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE LIKE A 90s MOVIE MONTAGE:
with Jill Sobule's Supermodelplaying over and over and overandoverandonverandoverandonver. It'll be awesome.
Nothing spectacular to see here, I just miss good jumping pics. (BTW, who the hell uses "commence" in a rap song? Kriss Kross, that's who.)
Some straight shots:
**WHY I CAN NEVER NOT LOVE THE MALL:
Because ALL OF THE (mall-touring stylists and a forevercreepy carousel in the middle of the motherfudging everything) still happens. Walking into the mall is like walking into a time machine that will only take me back to the late 80s and early 90s.
** MUSIC EDITION: YEASAYER + THE SMITH WESTERNS + HUSH HUSH:
@ The Music Box in Hollywood. Noooo one's uploaded a video from that show, so here's one from 2008 of their opening song (and my faaaavorite!!!) Sunrise.
The sister and I went to the Torrance Antique Faire/Flea Market the other week and here is a visual list of our awwwwesome purchases.
001/ Outfit:
I took my "Giant Screamer's Formula For Eassssy Dressing", but exchanged the dress with an AA cream-colored crop top (from their factory outlet store in L.A.) and a black body-con black skirt from F21 (this skirt is my MOSSSST FAVORITE addition to my wardrobe- I wear at least 2-3 times a week).
Inside black bag: a $5 (working!!) Polaroid camera, a silver V-shaped ring (the seller said it was "big in the 70s"), a enamel bird pin, a 70s design layout book... possible some other things? I can't remember.
And those shoessss.....
002/ TUK Creepers:
IGOTSMESOMECREEPERS! I spied these pair at a vendors stall, but I thought they might be too small for me. But Jaya tried them on anyhow and, BLAPITY BLAP- they fit! I was able to talk down the vendor into giving me them for $13- YAY AREA (I would have totallyhappily paid the original $20 asking price, too).
003/ $1 JEWWWWELRY!:
There's this old man vendor that sells a pretttty bangin' array of cheap jewelry at the flea market (mostly everything is a sweet, sweet $1), and Jaya and I couldn't resist grabbing a handful of necklaces and shit.
Black heart necklace (this looks exactly like $45 vintage red heart necklace J bought at a antique mall in San Juan Capistrano):
(A crapppy photo of a) Unicorn pin:
004/ Ethnic-y bags:
The tiny purple-ish one was a $1.50 (but from Deseret Industries Thrift Store); the other was $1 (interesting-ish fact: I saw an older Asian lady with this EXACT SAME BAG at Target. Weird... out of all of my purses...).
I've been trying to craft my PERFECT go-to outfit for the past few weeks.
I want something that uses the littttlest amount of brainpower but takes the greatest of easy to put together (I'm saving those precious, delicious brain cells for when tax time rolls around).
I THINK I have found one such outfit and it only take 5(ish) parts to make.
Giant Screamer's Formula For Easssy Dressing:
001/ A pull-on dress: I borrowed my sister's H&M mud+black color block dress when we went thrift store-ing/LA exploring this past weekend. It's not fussy; it compliments my skin tone; and it shows juuust enougn thigh that, when I'm sitting down, it makes it only slightly inappropriate.
002/ Black tights. A duh-doy. I like an opaque one, a patterned one, a knit one... whatever. As long as it conceals the vag area when I'm sitting, IT'S GOOD.
003/ Dark shoes. I borrowed my sister's RATTY hi-top Chuck's, but I coulda easily gone with my black+multi colored oxford Osborns, or my satin black Puma's, or my newfound TUK Creeee-pppers! I sang out that last part (pictures to come).
004/ Denim jacket. Everybody has one. If you don't, then you must be a caveman, because, really? REALLY?
005/ Accessories. My mom's dressing philosophy is to wear a plain outfit and then "accessorize! accessorize! accessorize!" An interesting necklace (like my leather medicine pouch from Mountain Mike's in Idyllwild, CA, or any of the ones that Jaaa posted up) makes this kinda boring dress not so... boring. The sunglasses (the flat $5 ones my sister raved about here) are comical and they hide my face. And the purse- if you're a lady, bring a cute one around, yah?
Me waving "GOODBYE!":
A close-up of the easy-to-pair sunglasses:
**BECAUSE THE DRUMS IN THIS SONG ARE SOOOO SICK:
I have re-established my love for HEALTH's song, Crimewave. Those drums... with this video... oooo guuurl, please!
I didn't think it ever would; I thought I would have to go through life being one of those people.
BUT NO MORE.
I've become a hat person.
I know that I've talked about this before, but during an unnecessary shopping spree this past weekend I found the "perfect hat."
How do I know it's THE ONE?:
-Does it fit and stay on my unusually large cabeza? CHECK.
-Wide brim for maximum sun/rain protection? CHECK.
-Is it black? CHECK.
-Does it include a ribbon? CHECK.
Before I reveal it, here are some previously mentioned style-spirations that I based my outfit on (and sorrrry, I don't remember what street style blog(s) they're from):

My new hat:
My outfit:
+Hat: Forever 21.
+Shirt: American Apparel.
+Beaded necklace: Torrance Antique Flea Market.
+Sister's black shorts: ON.
+Sister's suede sandals: MIA (via Nordstrom's Rack)
p.s. The day I wore this outfit was the last good day of sunshine. Right now it's raining and freeeezing here, so that only means one thing: IT'S TIME TO LAYER!! I got new shoes and pants to show off!
As my mom would say, this is what I wore to "debut" my new tattoo at the Rose Bow Flea Market, which (as a side note) sucked balllllls because it combined two of my other greatest hates: people and allergies.
I'm going to try to keep my hate (and the length of my post) to a minimum, because, as my horoscope said the other day, "goodness and positive vibes."
IT'S PICTURE-ME TIME:
David Bowie's Young Americans and Tom Petty's American Girl have been on repeat on my Ipod this summer, hence my 70s preppie republican look.
Ms. Smirky McSmirkison. Smile, FACE, SMILE!
+Clubmaster sunglasses: BleuDame.com.
+Beaded Necklace: Torrance Antique Flea Market (a $3 steal!).
+Blue & cream striped button-up: Salvation Army (another $3 steal!).

+Belt: Target.
+Cut-off shorts: jeans turned into cut-offs by ON.
